Beverly Hills developer filed plans for 390 units in two complexes
Plans for 676 Mateo St. call for 172 live/work units and 23,000 square feet of commercial space. Maxxam is requesting a 20% density bonus in exchange for providing 18 affordable units. Maxxam acquired the site in May 2016.Plans for 1100 E. 5th St call for 218 live/work units and 22,000 square feet of open space and amenities, including a resident art gallery.
In exchange for providing 24 affordable units, Maxxam is requesting a 20% density bonus for the project. Up to 4 establishments could be bars or restaurants based on the alcohol sales permit request. Maxxam acquired the site in July 2015. Both sites currently host warehouses, which will be demolished before construction.
